    Dale Connors is a senior consultant at Ellwood and joined our firm in 2016 as part of Ellwood’s acquisition of Watershed Investment Consultants, Inc., an investment consulting firm for which he was a co-founder, managing director, and senior consultant. Dale is based in Ellwood’s Denver office and leads the Public Fund practice. In this role, Dale is responsible for overseeing Ellwood's investment consulting services to public retirement clients. Dale also leads our core real estate manager research team. Over the course of his career, Dale has worked as a corporate officer and senior consultant at William M. Mercer Investment Consulting, Inc. and as a registered product specialist at The Principal Financial Group. Dale holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and is the former education chair of the CFA Society of Colorado. He previously served as patrol support unit chair for Arapahoe Rescue Patrol. Dale received his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

Dan leads Ellwood’s Endowments and Foundations practice where is responsible for improving the firm’s best strategic thinking regarding investment matters, industry best practices, trends, and regulatory updates that impact endowments and foundations. In addition, he serves as the primary consultant to several Ellwood clients with a focus on endowments, foundations, high net worth, and non-profit clients. Dan is also a member of Ellwood’s OCIO committee and the alternative manager research committee. From 2004 through 2018, Dan served as Ellwood’s chief investment officer with oversight of the firm’s investment manager, asset allocation and capital markets research areas. Prior to joining Ellwood, Dan was the co-director of endowments and foundations at Ennis Knupp and a mortgage-backed securities analyst for Household International. Dan holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. He is an active volunteer at Christ Church Winnetka and previously served as treasurer as well as a member of the Vestry. Dan received his Bachelor of Science in finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Previously, she was the controller and interim chief financial officer for Skyline Asset Management.     Russ Hill is the chairman of Ellwood’s board of directors. Russ joined Ellwood in 1994 as a senior consultant and in 2000, he was appointed president and chief operating officer. From 2004 until his retirement in early 2019, Russ served as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors. During his time at Ellwood, Russ was also the head of Ellwood’s Defined Benefit practice. Prior to joining Ellwood, Russ worked at Stratford Advisory Group, a Chicago-based consulting firm that he co-founded. Prior to entering the consulting business, Russ was responsible for managing the defined benefit and 401(k) plans for GATX Corporation for several years.  Russ received his MBA from Loyola University Chicago and his Bachelor of Science (with honors) from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.

Ellen serves as the primary consultant to several Ellwood clients with a focus on corporate retirement plans, endowments, foundations, and healthcare institutions.  Prior to joining Ellwood, Ellen worked as a high-yield fixed income securities analyst at Lincoln Capital Management, a Chicago-based investment firm. Ellen also holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. She received her Bachelor of Science with a double major in finance and marketing from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.  Ellen serves on the board of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) and Leaders Investing for Tomorrow (LIFT). She is a past board member and current member of the Women Investment Professionals (WIP) – Chicago and a member of Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA).

Before that, Sarah was the marketing manager for Morningstar’s Investment Management group where she developed marketing programs for Morningstar Managed Portfolios. She is a member of Women Investment Professionals (WIP) – Chicago and is a volunteer with American Corporate Partners where she mentors military veterans who are transitioning to the private sector. As director of quantitative research, he is responsible for leading Ellwood’s internal quantitative research and modeling to support Ellwood’s investment and manager research initiatives. Andrew also leads the firm’s private credit research team. Over the course of his career, Andrew has worked as a cash and securities analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman, as a managed accounts trader at Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, and as a licensed financial advisor at GCG Financial Inc. Andrew holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Colorado. He also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. Andrew received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii.

    Sue Toth is a managing director at Ellwood and joined our firm in 1993. As managing director of business operations, Sue is a member of the firm’s board of directors and management committee. In addition, she is the firm’s chief compliance officer. Sue is responsible for all aspects of the internal administrative, compliance, and financial operations of the firm. She is also a member of the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee. Prior to entering the consulting business, Sue worked for Continental Bank N.A. as an executive recruiter and corporate trainer. She received her Bachelor of Science in education from University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.

    Kevin Yoshida is a senior consultant at Ellwood and joined our firm in 2016 as part of Ellwood’s acquisition of Watershed Investment Consultants, Inc., an investment consulting firm for which he was a co-founder, managing director, and senior consultant. Kevin serves as the director of Ellwood’s capital markets committee, which identifies investment themes represented in Ellwood client portfolios. He is based in our Denver office and serves as the primary consultant to several Ellwood clients with a focus on endowments, foundations, healthcare institutions, and family office clients.  Kevin is also a member of the firm’s board of directors and the OCIO Committee. Before joining Watershed, Kevin served as a consultant at William M. Mercer Investment Consulting Inc.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Colorado.  Kevin currently serves as a board member to Sakura Square. He received his Bachelor of Science in finance from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
